The mayor highlights the importance of such knowledge for Orihuela Local Police in their work
Mayor and Civil Security Councillor for Orihuela, Monserrate Guillén brought the first aid course for 15 Local Police officers to a close. It was given by a cardiologist and was held in collaboration with the Red Cross.
The course lasted 12 hours and in this time, the officers received the necessary training to respond in case of an accident, evaluate the seriousness of an injured person, apply the cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvre and specify what steps to take in case they cannot be moved.
The justification for this course is that the Local Police intervene in many cases that require this type of knowledge. Guillén announced that the intention of the Civil Security Department is to repeat this type of course until the entire Local Police force has obtained the qualification.
