The signing of the deal took place on Thursday morning and the contributions from the promoter will go towards priority cases
The building group Las Colinas Golf & Country Club and San Miguel Town Hall signed an agreement on Thursday morning to improve the living conditions of people who are mentally disabled and reliant on help. According to the agreement, which came into effect as soon as it was signed, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club via the GMP Foundation, will use direct and economic contributions to help complete San Miguel Town Hall’s care projects, all of which are aimed at mentally disabled people.
Amongst the direct help, the promoter will make an electric wheelchair and orthopaedic equipment that will help the mobility of these people from the municipality whose mental disability limits their getting around by themselves. The economic contributions will go towards paying for diagnostic studies and costs relating to specific cases of families in San Miguel that are considered a priority and that meet the aims of the GMP Foundation, the building group and owner of Las Colinas Golf & Country Club.
San Miguel Town Hall will manage and administrate the projects in the agreement and be responsible for coordinating them, as well as ensuring they are carried out correctly and completely. Representatives of Las Colinas and the Town Hall will have regular meetings to check the progress of the projects and make any necessary decisions.
This agreement underlines the charitable commitment of Las Colinas to people with different abilities. The exclusive residential development, containing one of the 100 best golf courses in Europe, has demonstrated this commitment since its opening in 2010 by employing members of AIDEMAR, the Mar Menor association for the integration of disabled people.
